What a FANTASTIC weekend we had with our "girls". With gale force winds forecast for that weekend our travel plans were in doubt, but in the end we travelled like Royalty, with Mike and the dogs braving the rough seas on the ferry while I chickened out and went by plane!  Our efforts were well worthwhile with results as follows;

MIKUDI SUCCESS AT THE EURO SHOW IN BUDAPEST
5th October
Great news reached us by text message from Budapest.  Romanian, Serbian, Hungarian CH MIKUDI FOTO FINNISH Jnr CH, was 1st in the Open Bitch class with an EXC grade and was then awarded the CAC. This fantastic win under judge Mr S, Seymour (Aus, UK) gave Foto her full Hungarian CH title. There was an entry of 52 TTs at the show, judged by Ms M Heine (Germany)

4th October 
At the club specialty show in Budapest in association with the Euro Show, CH MIKUDI FOTO FINNISH Jnr CH, was 1st in the Open Bitch class, graded EXC, and then was awarded the CAC.  The judge was Mr S Seymour (Aus, UK)
 
Many congratulations to Arpad and Szimonetta for this memorable weekend, and hugs to Foto for flying the Mikudi flag for us a long way from home!!

Belfast Championship Show
We had a very successful day at Belfast, securing a lifelong Crufts qualification for Zara as she gained her UK stud book number, and qualifying the puppyTango for 2009. Barbie Doll is of course already qualified for life as she has her stud book number and her champion title.  Results as follows;

We only took two bitches with us this time as the weather was a continuation of that suffered on the circuit, only worse!!! The rain soaked us and the wind was horrendous, actually ripping our tent by the end of the day.
However, it was all worth it as the "baby" of the Mikudi show team - Fame - won her first CAC.

THE "MUNSTER CIRCUIT" 2008
Well what can I say - - it rained and it rained and it rained some more!  The beautiful showgrounds in Clonmel, Killarney, Limerick and Tralee (Castleisland) began each day with plenty of green grass (already waterlogged), and ended each day a brown sea of mud!  The dogs didn't look much better!
Having said that we had a great week of showing and fun and will no doubt be back next year to do it all again.

INTRODUCING - - ARAKI GRAND ILLUSION OF MIKUDI aka "TANGO"
At 6 months of age Tango went to his first show on July 14th. 
He won Best Puppy in Breed and was placed 3rd in the Utility Puppy Group

He is a son of the famous Crufts BIS winner, CH/AM CH Araki Fabulous Willy, and on his dam's side is descended from Mikudi Gemini (litter brother of GB & IR CH Mikudi Gemima), so in some ways he has come home!

As the photos show he has the correct TT movement, rarely seen in the rings today, with powerful but effortless reach and drive,and we are looking forward to campaigning him when he has grown up a bit.

We would like to congratulate Xandur's daughter FiveNinePlus Molly Malone (Schanti's Xandur-Lamleh mit Mikudi x Mikudi Uptown Girl at FiveNinePlus) on her success at Fermoy International Show on May 3rd

"Cockle" won the puppy bitch class and then won Best Puppy in Breed,
under Mr W Haltorf from Germany.

She then represented the breed in the Group 9 Puppy Group under the well known UK judge Ferelith Somerfield, and was placed a very creditable 4th.

A new Mikudi arrival!
Just over a week since arriving home with us from America, "Fame" has
settled well and has made lots of new friends, two-legged and four! She is
10 months old now and quickly adapting to doing things the "Mikudi" way!!

We have just returned from a trip to the USA, holidaying in New York City
and then moving on to Syracuse NY where we took in the rigours of the TTCA
National Specialty Show.This is a two day affair.The first day involves
non-regular classes, and the second, regular classes and Best of Breed
classes (the name for the champions class in the USA), and ultimately BIS.
Our main reason for going was to collect our new puppy bitch - Cedar Creek
Flirting With Fame - and what a star she turned out to be!
Our sincere thanks go to her breeder Donna Ogden who, because of the requirements of the UK/IR Pet Travel Scheme, had to keep her until this time. Donna has done a wonderful job with her, including winning points towards her AM CH title at her very first show at 6 months of age where she won major points and BOS over champions!
At the TTCA National Specialty "Fame's" results were as follows:

No other Irish owned or bred dog/bitch won a class this year.

This was the first all breed championship show of 2008 and Mikudi got off to a great start.

Mikudi is proud to have qualified TWO puppies for the
Northern Ireland Puppy Of The Year 2007 competition.

This took place on the 4th January 2008, but unfortunately due to
rather a lot of unexpected snow and a bit of ill health thrown in, we were
unable to attend this prestigious event.

Our qualifiers were:

Both pups won major awards in 2007 including CACs from the puppy class, Tibetan Terrier Club of Ireland Championship show RBIS & BPIS, BPIS (Open), and both are qualified for Crufts 2008 through their class wins at UK championship shows.

Dublin DSS All Breeds Championship Show

This was an exciting day for "Mikudi" as we took our new girl out for the first time. She is Araki Barbie Doll and is a daughter of the famous 2007 Crufts BIS winner
GB & AM CH Araki Fabulous Willy.
She spent her puppy/junior days in Holland where she had a very successful show career, winning multi JCACs.
Now back in the UK she has joined us in Northern Ireland as part of the Mikudi Show Team.

In Dublin "Barbie" won the open bitch class and then the CAC.

Mikudi Errol Finn (Hermann) won 1st Intermediate Dog and was graded
Excellent.

Although all puppies in this litter are now sold, please enjoy watching their progress on our litters page.

24th NOVEMBER
 
A great end to the showing year for our youngster
ARAKI SHOWSTOPPER AT MIKUDI (CORKY).
She was selected into the final 4 in the competition for the
NI Utility Pup Of The Year,
judged by UK all rounder Mr Terry Nethercott.

Corky was only shown a handful of times this year but certainly made her mark in the ring.
She won The Puppy Bitch Stakes and then BPIS at Lisburn Open Show at 7 months of age (photo below)

followed at 8 months by going BPIS, Best Bitch and BCAC at the
Irish TT Club championship show
judged by breed specialist Mr Howard Tonks.

At Belfast Championship show she won a big puppy bitch class under breed specialist Mr Bob Gregory thus qualifying for Crufts next year.  Corky will now sit back and relax and grow up in readiness for next years show season.

This was a wonderful day for Mikudi.
We took three dogs to the show and came away with 3 first prizes, 3 excellent gradings, the bitch RCAC, the dog CAC and

In May we exported Mikudi Foto Finnish (Foto) to Arpad and Szimonetta Csernok in Hungary.
She is a daughter of GB/IR CH Mikudi Gemima, and litter sister of Mikudi Errol Finn (Hermann) who is still with us at Mikudi.
Foto has settled in very well and has just attended her very first shows since moving there.

She was a year old on the second day of the show.

We had a very interesting litter born on the 29th May, sired by our pure Lamleh boy imported from Germany (Schanti's Xandur-Lamleh mit Mikudi).
This was Xandur's first litter and what an exciting bunch they are!
Their dam is Araki pewter Popcorn at Mikudi (Fizz).

We wish to announce that the claim made by Mrs Maureen Byrne on her Siddhartha website on 10 April 2006, that two of her dogs in 2004 and 2005 were the "Top Winning Tibetan Terrier in the Republic" is untrue, false and misleading.
Dogs that are the top winners in their breed in Ireland are officially recognised by the Irish Kennel Club with the award of Annual Champion.
