This was a first trip "across" the water for young Fanta (9 months). She took it all in her stride and won the Puppy Bitch class and finally Best Puppy Bitch in Breed from an entry of 16 (minor puppy & puppy classes).
 
Zara won the Open Bitch class and the RCC. A very worthwhile trip, and it was great to see Mikudi Sugar "N" Spice (Nala) again, who just 2 days after her first birthday was placed 2nd in a strong Junior class. Nala is owned by Sean and Karen Taylor who live in Blackpool, so a "local" show for them!

  This was a show never to be forgotten.
Our youngest show girl "Fanta" won the Puppy Bitch class and then went on to win her first Green Star/CAC, followed by
BEST PUPPY IN SHOW & BEST IN SHOW!
Fanta's best mate "Kerry" won the Junior Bitch class, and went on to win the RGS/RCAC
"Zara" won the Champion Bitch class.

The TT entry at Crufts this year was an amazing 197, the second highest entry in the whole Utility group.
This was Zara's 3rd CC so she can now add UK CH to her titles.

The judge's critique from Boston Championship Show has just been published in the latest "Our Dogs" newspaper. Zara was awarded her 2nd CC with BOB. We are delighted with the judge's words and wanted to share them with you :-)
The judge was Ms Heidi Lawrence, a UK breed specialist.
   
"Open Bitch. 1st, Andrew & Tempest's IR & INT CH Schanti's Zara-Lamleh mit Mikudi, exquisite black/white bitch, super outline, square, compact but oh so feminine, underneath her profuse mature double coat is a sturdy body, good length of neck, super depth of chest to brisket and breadth of rib allowing good heart room, well laid shoulders, good return of upper arm, strong well angulated hindquarters, level topline, well set on tail, large flat feet, moved out so well on a loose lead covering the ground with ease, she has the most typical of heads with large dark round eyes, marked stop,strong muzzle and a reverse scissor bite, giving that lovely strength to her lower jaw, her expression is so Tibetan almost arrogant, she has all the breed's finer points in one perfectly sized package. I just loved her. CC and BOB."

There couldn't have been a better start to 2011.
We travelled over to Boston Championship Show in England with Zara.
She delighted us by winning the Open Bitch class and then the Bitch CC.
To top it all off, she then went Best of Breed as well!

The Irish Kennel Club put on two new back to back shows in September, one an International and one a National. We had an unforgettable weekend, winning both sets of CACs and CACIBs, BOB at both shows with different dogs, making up a new International Champion on Saturday and taking 3rd place in Group 9 on Sunday!

We had a great Crufts again this year, as we do every year. Win or lose the atmosphere is second to none and it is the one chance each year to meet up with our TT friends from all around the world. The biggest problem is that the time just passes too quickly and before we know it we are back home again.
We showed two of our TTs this year and were delighted to win with both of them.

INTRODUCING - - ROSY
We may have travelled to England with two TTs, but of course came home with more!

This is LASANG POPCORN ROSY FOR MIKUDI, now 8 months old and already having a successful show career under her very young belt. Shown by her breeder Mr Reg Andrews, she attended her first championship show at the East of England Show at just six months of age. She won the Minor Puppy Bitch class and was then declared BEST PUPPY IN BREED by judge Mr Mike Gadsby. At Paignton she again won the Minor Puppy Bitch class and BEST PUPPY BITCH under Mrs Mary Davies, and at Bournemouth, her last show in England before coming home with us, she again won the Minor Puppy Bitch class and BEST PUPPY BITCH under Mrs Pat Noujaim.
 
Rosy has settled very well with the rest of the Mikudi gang and will soon make an appearance on "Irish soil".

Having decided not to do the "Irish Circuit" this year, we went to the South of England instead and combined a lovely holiday with a couple of championship shows. It turned out to be a very worthwhile and enjoyable trip.

ANOTHER "MIKUDI" CHAMPION IS CROWNED!
  Having won the open bitch class, SCHANTI'S ZARA-LAMLEH MIT MIKUDI was then awarded the CAC and BOB.
This was Zara's 7th and qualifying CAC (Green Star) for her IRISH CHAMPION title. She was also selected into the final seven in Group 9.
The breed and group were judged by Mr K Stevenson (IRL).
 
In November 2008 Zara won the title of "NI UTILITY SHOW DOG OF THE YEAR".
This event was judged by the world renowned UK judge Mr Andrew Brace.

In his critique of the event he wrote about Zara -
"On the table the TT was a joy, excelling in so many characteristics that the breed seems to be losing – perfect reverse scissor bite, correct big feet, wonderful bone and body and the most glorious head. She exudes the moderation that is a hallmark of the breed and is completely free of exaggeration. She loses nothing on the move and has the correct coat"

COLERAINE CANINE CLUB OPEN SHOW

BEST IN SHOW
Having had a break from showing for 18 months to grow his adult coat, our pure "Lamleh" German import from the famous Schanti's kennel decided it was time to put in an appearance again.

Schanti's Xandur-Lamleh mit Mikudi couldn't have made a more impressive comeback. He won BOB, Group 1 and BEST IN SHOW under Mrs M Boulcott from England.
With his clear eye certificate, good hip score and many typical breed features, Xandur is a great asset to the breed. At exactly 16 inches (41 cms) Xandur is a rare commodity in the ring these days being of the correct size and oozing breed type.
How exciting it was to find a judge who appreciated him for what he is - - A TRUE TT without exaggeration, just as described in the breed standard.

IKC ST PATRICK'S DAY CELTIC WINNERS SHOW
  This is one of the main events in the Irish show calendar and is the only show in the year where Celtic Winner (CW) titles can be won.
We had a great day and came home with another title for "Barbie".
 
CH ARAKI BARBIE DOLL WITH MIKUDI won the Champion Bitch class and was awarded the CAC (Green Star) and the CW'09 title.

CRUFTS 2009
The "Mikudi" girls did us proud again.  Common sense did not prevail and we made the long journey with 4 bitches!  They all came home with rosettes and cards.  The judge was Mr. Mike Davies (Pinrow), a breed specialist of long standing.
 
Making her final appearance in the show ring was GB/IR/INT CH Araki American Addiction at Mikudi.  She was shown only once in 2008 and became the
"NORTHERN IRELAND UTILITY VETERAN OF THE YEAR".
She finished her career in great style at Crufts 2009 when she was placed
1st in the Veteran Bitch class (10 entries)

Tibetan & Oriental Breeds Gala Event

The newly formed All Ireland Tibetan Breeds Association (AITBA) held this as its inaugural event at the IKC showgrounds in Dublin. The event was divided into four categories - Puppy, Adult, Champion and Veteran.
